THE FUTURE OF WORK
The labour market is facing rapid, large-scale change in what many call the future of work.
Technological, social, economic, and environmental forces are changing working conditions. The world is more connected now than ever, which means global events such as pandemics or climate shifts will drastically affect employment. These changes will be experienced by all people, across all industries.
Understanding the challenges and opportunities of these changes will help us prepare for our participation in the future of work. In times of change, it is important to focus on both personal and professional growth as well as building resiliency. This will help individuals persevere through the challenges of disruption and find a path to new jobs and opportunities.
The FOW initiative within the broader Future Ready initiative (FRI) aims to take a more holistic and inquiry-based approach to empowering participants and families. Our mission is to empower all Ismaili workers in Canada to pursue a top job pathway with strong growth potential.
“I encourage you to pivot in a direction that can lead to a stronger future - apply your strengths and resources to the current situation and emerging trends, and skill up in a direction that is more strategic for the future.”
— Ameerally Kassim-Lakha, President of the Ismaili Council for Canada
