About the Future Ready Initiative

The Future Ready Initiative (FRI) is the Council for Canada’s service delivery organization.

The intent is to provide every member of the jamat who desires it, access to quality, comprehensive services and mentorship opportunities to achieve their goals in the following areas:

•Wellness

•Individual and Family Development

•Livelihoods and the Future of Work

•Settlement and Newcomer Services

Current Service Model

Services Available

  • A newcomer needing to explore career paths can get coaching.

  • Someone struggling with mental health can get support to navigate the healthcare system

  • and get connected to a mental health professional.

  • Someone looking for better housing can get skills development and employment support to

  • increase their income so that it opens moreoptions for housing affordability.

  • A youth can get mentorship support from FastTrack Youth Mentorship or coaching from FOW

  • to help them plan their future goals.

  • A person/family experiencing poverty can get support to identify their root causes and

  • develop a holistic family plan that may include skills training and employment support;

  • support to achieve optimum mental or physical health; connecting to government benefits;

  • improving financial literacy; and financial support.

ACCESS provides you with information or access to resources, within and outside the Jamat, that can help you.

Contact ACCESS via the online form 24-7 or by phone during the following hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday

and Saturday from 2pm-6pm local time.

Local JK Ambassador and FRI Council Member

• If the Jamati member has challenges with using one of the defined methods – you can support the Jamati

member to use the online form, call or email FRI.

• Educate the jamati member on what FRI can offer and can provide emotional support (hold their hand)

during this process.

• Be the bridge between the MMKK/referee.

• The FRI Council Member can also work with FRI volunteers and staff to ensure service has been offered.
