    AyeWork is a just-in-time / on-demand recruitment solution for both employers and those seeking employment. The app uses an AI matching algorithm to pair job seekers and employers. Attached is a brief presentation on the app, its features and benefits.

    AyeWork was designed as a solution for newcomers and international students in particular, who often struggle to find work due to a lack of Canadian experience, training and/or credentials.

    NPower Canada programs provide participants with free in-demand digital and professional skills, training, and connects them to new and rewarding career opportunities with some of Canada’s largest employers. Through consultation with a wide range of employers, NPower Canada’s comprehensive curriculum ensures participants are equipped with the in-demand technical and professional skills most sought after by industry. Their programs are 15 weeks in duration, fully funded and provided at no-cost to participants.

  • The Accenture Learning Exchange

    The Skills to Succeed Learning Exchange helps people build the knowledge and skills to get a job and succeed in that job. Developed with non-profit partners, the Learning Exchange offers a blend of online or smartphone training to learn the basics, and then workshops to build deeper skills and receive coaching.

    Learners have access to 144 online and smartphone courses and resources covering Foundational Skills, Career Planning and Job Search, Professional Skills, and Job Tracks. Most online courses are just 15 minutes long, and learners can access them anytime, any place.

  • FREE Culinary Training and Employment Opportunity

    Do you want to work in the hospitality industry? Join a FREE Culinary Training Program with Vancouver Community College (VCC)!

    Training information:

    - Start Date: September 6th

    - End Date: October 27th

    - Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00pm to 5:30pm, in person at the VCC Campus

    Course Curriculum:

    - Knife skills – cutting fruit plates and salad preparation

    - Food preparation

    - Kitchen terminology

    - Layout of the kitchen

    - Kitchen etiquette

    - The flow of a kitchen during prep and service

    - Professional presentation

    - Workplace safety

    Participants will receive job search support during and after the training to help them secure sustainable employment.

    Eligibility criteria:

    - You identify as having a disability or long-term health issue

    - You are unemployed or underemployed

    - You are legally eligible to work in Canada (are a Canadian citizen or PR holder)

    - You are not receiving Employment Insurance (EI) or Eligible to receive EI supports

    - Able to commit to program schedule

    - You are committed to working in the field in which training is offered

    Since 1988 the Centre for Newcomers (CFN) has been a key resource for immigrants and refugees of all nationalities in Calgary. Through various settlement services, career assistance, youth and family support and language instruction, CFN has created a community that values diversity, in which people of all backgrounds find and create opportunities to fulfill dreams and participate fully as citizens in their new home country.

  • Windmill Microlending

    Windmill provides microloans of up to $15,000 to skilled immigrants and refugees so they can succeed in their careers. They support clients to obtain the Canadian licensing or training required to work in their field, or to secure a position which matches their level of education, skills, and experience. Windmill’s loans can be used to pay for exams, training, assessments, books and materials, living allowance, relocation costs, professional association fees, and other expenses related to career advancement.
